What are the different types of lightbulb fittings?
The two most common lightbulb fittings are bayonet caps and the Edison screw cap. So what is the difference? A bayonet cap is known as a “twist and lock” fitting and has two pins so when you install it, you will feel it lock into place when you have screwed it in. A screw cap was invented by Thomas Edison, has a threaded base and is the easiest bulb fitting as all you have to do is screw it into the light fitting. Firstly, it is always best to find a light that suits your aesthetics and complements the decor of the room. Secondly, its good to consider the wattage of the bulb you will be using for your light to ensure it is neither too bright nor too dim for the room.
